I used to think being a third culture kid was a weakness. I’ve now discovered that this is my superpower. A third culture kid is someone who grows up in a different culture than their parents. This can lead–and has for me–to feeling like you don’t fully belong to either culture. This has led me to find my own culture online and in pop culture. If you asked my friends anything about me, they would say that I can reference any and every niche pop culture trend ever and also that I am the craziest fangirl they have ever met. I have many niche interests that have allowed me to find a community online and express who I truly am.
